John McFarlane is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hand and wrist surgeries at Yeovil Hospital.
The practice, based at Yeovil Hospital in Somerset and the Sulis Hospital in Bath includes all aspects of hand and wrist surgery and he aims to develop a combined decision making process in order to provide patients with informed, successful outcomes.
John McFarlane was appointed as a hand, wrist and general trauma surgeon at Yeovil Hospital in 2019.
After qualifying with a graduate entry Medicine degree from St Georges Hospital in London in 2006 John’s post graduate orthopaedic training was on the prestigious Oswestry training programme. In 2018 he then completed a year of sub-specialty hand and wrist Fellowship training at the QE and Royal Orthopaedic Hospitals in Birmingham. During this time he was trained in all aspects of hand and wrist elective and trauma surgery including wrist arthroscopy, small joint replacements and treatment modalities for Dupuytren’s disease including Xiapex injections.
